Gunner's Mate school will be offered from 16-24JUL11 for PO3 and above.

This school is provided through the USN Gunner's Mate "A" School, and is taught entirely by their staff. Cadets will learn the fine parts of marksmanship, including maintenance of all weapons in the armory, as well as qualification in a state of the art laser simulator that can be reconfigured for a variety of scenarios.

Cadets will also have the opportunity to train with the local Chicago FBI towards the end of the training, and will also have the opportunity to participate in the FBI's simulator in a variety of urban assault scenarios.

This training requires unusual maturity on the part of cadets. This is not the training to approach with anything less than your best, and a serious demeanor.

Cadets should arrive between 1200 (noon) and 1600 on Saturday, 16JUL11. Cadets MUST be aboard and checked in no later than 1600. Please make travel arrangements that fit this window.

Officers/staff should arrive between 0800 and 1600 on Friday, 15JUL11.

Graduation will be in BLDG 122 aboard NAVSTA GLKS at 1000 on Sunday, 24JUL11. Cadets traveling home via commercial air should book their return flight NO EARLIER THAN 1500.
